Barack Obama receives the 'Nobel War Prize'

President Barack Obama will end his eight years in office with two dubious records no other Commander-in-Chief ever achieved.  First, he is the only President to never have a single year of 3% or higher economic growth during his tenure.

And the second one will be the antithesis to how he started his eight year run in office when the Nobel committee gave him the Peace Prize.

From January 2009 to January 2017, Barack Obama has become the only President ever to spend every single day of his eight years in office at war.

Seven years after being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,” despite having been in office for less than one year and having pretty much no actual, tangible foreign diplomacy accomplishments at the time, President Obama will depart the White House having dropped 26,171 bombs on foreign countries around the world in 2016, 3,027 more than 2015.

Sounds about right for a president who bombed 7 nations and became the first in U.S. history to be at war every single day of his eight year administration. Zerohedge

The closest President to Obama in having his entire term in office under a state of war was Richard Nixon, who won in 1968 while the U.S. was mired in the Vietnam conflict, and left office early due to a potential impeachment before military troops finally left South Vietnam in 1975.

To note, Barack Obama inherited a few of his conflicts from the prior President, George W. Bush.  But under his administration the war on terror has escalated due to his drone and bombing campaigns in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and Syria, and the nation remains bogged down with soldiers active in more places now than at any time outside of World War II.

Undoubtedly the biggest irony of Obama’s Legacy will be how he entered his Presidency with a Nobel Peace Prize, and is leaving it with a metaphorical Nobel War Prize. ¬†And perhaps the next President can clean up the mess that Obama left the American people and her military, and become the true one deserving of a Nobel when all is said and done.
