Hillary Clinton is back with new scheme to get donations now that Clinton Foundation has been scuttled
With Hillary Clinton losing the Presidential election last November, perhaps the most important thing to the Clinton cabal was their sudden drying up of donations to their foundation because without the ability to guarantee political and contractual favors, there was no more need to ‘pay to play’.
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) filed a WARN — Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification — with New York State’s Department of Labor on Thursday, announcing that, effective April 15, 2017, it would be closing its doors and laying off 22 employees. The CGI’s stated reason: “Discontinuation of the Clinton Global Initiative.”
Following the election, foreign governments that had been regular donors began cutting their contributions to the Clinton Foundation, some severely. For example, news.com.au noted that the Australian government “has not renewed any of its partnerships with the scandal-plagued Clinton Foundation, effectively ending 10 years of taxpayer-funded contributions worth more than $88 million.” The government of Norway, which had been contributing as much as $20 million a year to the foundation, cut its contribution by nearly 90 percent.
As noted by the New York Observer, these cuts indicate that “the organization’s clout was predicated on donor access to the Clintons, rather than its philanthropic work.” – New American
Yet for a couple that has spent nearly all of their political careers siphoning money from one group or another in exchange for political favors, simply fading off into the sunset with billions of dollars appears to not be enough. Â And on May 15, Hillary Clinton started a new non-profit that seeks to cash in on the faux anti-Trump movement, and garner a new round of donations that this time will come from average Americans.
Onward Together will start by supporting five groups, including Swing Left, Emerge America, Color of Change, Indivisible and Run for Something.
In some cases will provide direct funding to the organizations to help grow their audiences. The funding – it appears –Â will come from you America and yuour kind donations…
“In recent months, we’ve seen what’s possible when people stand up for a fairer, big-hearted, more inclusive America,”
“Chip in today to help Onward Together support the people and organizations championing the vision that earned 66 million votes in the last election.” – Zerohedge
Inevitably, we wonder just how much cash Hillary’s new foundation might actually get seeing as most of the anti-Trump resistance warriors are broke indebted millennials.
