VIDEO CAPTURES COP SLAPPING 10-Year-Old IN THE FACE [VIDEO]
A Eugene police officer was captured on film slapping a 10-year-old in the face while executing a court order at Monroe Park Sunday evening.
The boy’s father, 32-year-old Brian Wolfe, contacted police and presented officers with a court order barring the boy’s mother, 28-year-old Stephanie Johnston, from visiting the child after Johnston missed a court custody hearing.
Johnston, who says her son’s father beats him, was at the park with the boy when police arrived on scene. After attempting to run from police, an officer caught up with the child as witnesses began filming the incident.
The boy, reportedly scared to go back to his father, can be seen biting the officer’s hand in an attempt to escape. The officer without hesitation proceeds to slap the child in the face.
Eugene police responded to the incident by supporting the officer’s actions which they say was a legal and small tap on the boy’s forehead.
âThis is not a situation where youâve got a big burly police officer that punches a 10-year-old in the face and knocks him to the ground. This is a situation where youâve got an officer thatâs under a tremendous amount of pressure from bystanders thatâs now on the top of that heâs getting bit,â said Lt. Sam Kamkar, Eugene Police Spokesman to KEZI 9 News.
âWhat do you do when a 10-year old is biting you, you know? And as you can imagine bites are pretty dangerous.”
During the altercation the boy and his mother argued with police alleging that the boy’s dad, who was later on scene, was not the boy’s actual biological father.
The boy was released into the fathers custody without further incident.
